With whakapapa connecting me to Ngāti Whātua o Ōrākei, Ngāti Whātua ki Kaipara, Tainui, Te Waiohua, and Ngā Puhi, my work moves between whakairo (carving), tā moko, music, and design. Each discipline is a different way of telling stories carried through in wood, skin, sound, and image.

Takaparawhau, taku ūkaipō

I graduated from the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute in 2006, and later returned to serve as Head of Schools there from 2014 to 2019. In 2007, my wife Leonie and I established Toitū Design Ltd, bringing our respective practices together under one shared creative vision. Since its inception, Toitū Design has been a leader in mahi toi, building a reputation grounded in expertise, authenticity, and workmanship of the highest standard.
